McAllen Properties is a family owned business that offers turn-key property development, leasing, and management with over 30 years’ experience in the commercial real estate industry within the greater Madison area. By owning, leasing and managing 1.4 million square feet we can provide “All the space you need” for your growing business. McAllen Properties, Inc. was founded in 1976 by Claude “Mac” McAllen. In 1964, Mac entered the business world as an agent for Hobart Sales & Service; a food equipment corporation. Mac began McAllen Properties as a “hobby” in the late 1970’s and it has grown into one of the largest commercial real estate portfolios in Madison. In the 1990’s Mac’s vision for the company developed into offering multi-tenant light-industrial warehouse space that offers features required by most tenants yet is customizable to all. To embark on his vision, he began acquiring larger parcels of land along the Highway 51 corridor on Madison’s southeast side to develop the companies’ first industrial business park.

From the mid-1990’s into the 2000’s, the company enjoyed a vigorous growth spurt and grew the portfolio from the southeast side to the northeast side of Madison. During this time, Mac’s three daughters became owners of the company. With a passion for the industry, Kerry McAllen began working side by side with Mac in 1999. Together, Mac and Kerry developed the McAllen TEC Incubator; a public/private partnership with Madison College formerly Madison Area Technical College, and Madison Gas & Electric. The McAllen TEC Incubator concept expanded the company’s vision to include high tech and biotech industrial warehouse with increased infrastructure and a higher curb appeal.

In 2016, Mac retired from the day-to-day operations of the business and Kerry assumed the position of President. Today the company has six employees who provide professional services to approximately 100 tenants occupying 1.4 million square feet in 32 buildings located in seven business parks.
